Do the Bucks Stop Here?

Written by Jon Brown and edited by Jason Rubin

One of the biggest surprises of this NBA season has been the play of the Milwaukee Bucks, who were projected by many to be one of the worst teams in the league. They have taken the NBA by storm thanks in part to a team committment to coach Scott Skiles' defensive schemes. Their gritty defense is keeping them competitive despite the fact that 6 of the 13 players who have seen action for the Bucks this season are shooting below .400 from the field. Their hot start can also be attributed to the play of early Rookie of the Year candidate, Brandon Jennings. His choice to go to Europe and get in an extra year as a professional really helped him learn what it takes to be a professional.

NBA Awards of the First Two Weeks of the Season

Written by Jason Kaner and edited by Jason Rubin

It is never too early to start the discussion for end of the season awards. And through the first ten games or so we get a pretty good idea at how the NBA will pan out. As such, here are my awards through the first two weeks of the NBA season:

MVP = Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets

Carmelo’s play has been nothing short of outstanding. So far this year it appears that he has stepped up his game from a second class star into the upper echelon consisting of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade. Carmelo was the major reason the Nuggets have gotten out to such a great start. His 30.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 2.9 APG have been absolutely key as to why Denver has exploded out to the best record their club has seen in years. If he can keep this up, expect a return trip to the Western Conference Finals for the Nuggets.

Close But No Cigar = Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat

Where Will LeBron End Up in 2010?

Written by Jon Brown and edited by Jason Rubin

Will LeBron James really leave Cleveland as a free agent this off-season? Where would he go if he did? Is it worth leaving a title contender to go to New York?

If it weren't for "H1N1" and "economic climate", "2010 free agent class" would probably be the most used term for the last year and most of the next year.  Most of all the talk focuses on Cleveland Cavaliers superstar, LeBron James.  He is the reigning NBA MVP and considered by many to be the best player in the league.  Many think he'll stay in Cleveland but others think he might end up in the Big Apple.

It doesn't seem likely that LeBron ends up in New York when he has much more appealing options that have a better chance at winning a title.  One of those teams is New Jersey.  With the Nets moving to large market in Brooklyn and LeBron’s good friend, Jay-Z, a part owner of the team, the Nets should seem very appealing to LeBron.  In fact, New Jersey is probably LeBron’s most likely destination should he choose to bolt his home state.

Déjà vu?

Written by Josh Clikeman and edited by Jason Rubin

No, not the movie…I’m talking the Phoenix Suns.  As Suns fans know all too well, last season was pretty disappointing.  The fans were not pleased, to say the least, with missing the playoffs.  But as it seems, neither were the players.  Last year for the Suns was a train wreck lead by coach, Terry Porter, “Captain Shaq” and a one-eyed Amare’. Fortunately, some good came from it, though.  Earl Clark seems to have plenty of potential even if he is something of a project and the Suns were able to get some cap-relief with the buyouts of both Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic.
